Balthazar made a beautiful cage for a boy in the village. In fact the boy had not informed his miserly father of this. When Balthazar brought the cage to sell to the boy, his father scolded the carpenter for not discussing the business with him as father. When the boy's father finally refused the cage, Balthazar gave let the boy have it for free.
